More challenges are threatening to break the relationship of Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) and Malia (Shelley Hennig) in the upcoming season of "Teen Wolf."

In March, Buzzfeed chatted with Teen Wolf executive producer Jeff Davis, who claimed that the upcoming season will be the darkest for the series so far.

"The Desert Wolf [her mother] is huge for Malia," Davis told the entertainment site. "It's going to affect her deeply and make her question the kind of person she is. It could even affect her relationship with Stiles and tear them apart."

Meanwhile, Hennig also hinted about the about what is in store for her character and Stiles in season five in an interview with Hollywood Life.

The actress said, "It's really important to Stiles to help me figure it who the Desert Wolf is, who my mother is. There's also a fear there to figure out is she good [or] is she evil? Will it change their relationship? "It could. That whole situation is not easy for a 17-year-old so hopefully Stiles makes it a smoother process."

However, the actress claims that the couple will still have a lot going on in the series, which means that it would be impossible for them to be separated.

"They've got a lot going on, but there's a special bond between the two, and I'm excited to see how passionate it will get in their own non-traditional way. And also, see what challenges may come their way," she said before adding, "He's her person."

Meanwhile, the fifth season of "Teen Wolf" claims to tackle the pack's need to stick with each other. According to spoilers, a lot of supernatural villains are said to be coming to Beacon Hills this season, as well as other wolf entities like Theo, portrayed by "Pretty Little Liars" star Cody Christian.

"Teen Wolf" Season 5 will start airing on June.
