MTV will veer away from its traditional New Year's Eve countdown to give way to a lengthy "Teen Wolf" season 5B marathon.

Together with a marathon of the network's Internet video clip titled "Ridiculousness," MTV will release a six-minute exhilarating promo trailer for the second half of "Teen Wolf" season 5 just before the clock strikes 12 on New Year's Eve.

According to Variety, this will be the first time that MTV will not air a New Year's Eve-dedicated program since the network started broadcasting in 1981.

But before the network airs the extended promo trailer, a new promo video for "Teen Wolf" season 5 recently made the rounds online.

The new trailer revealed one of the major fears of the fans, which is seeing all of their favorite characters dying.

The trailer, which is aptly titled "They're All Going to Die," showed that more challenges and dangers are lurking for the packs in Beacon Hills.

Though some of the clips were already featured in previous trailers for the "Teen Wolf" season 5B, some of them were never seen before.

The first one featured a shot of an oni in a different angle, while the other one showed Scott (Tyler Posey) writhing in pain after being thrown on the ground. The trailer did not reveal who attacked Scott, but his partial transformation could be a clue that he was battling another supernatural entity.

Another part of the trailer showcased an individual rising from under the sand. Based on the shape, the figure suggested that it was a woman. However, there is no word yet regarding the identity of the figure.

"Teen Wolf" season 5 returns on MTV on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
