Scott (Tyler Posey) is leaving the pack and Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) will be taking his place as Alpha. Meanwhile, Peter Hale (Ian Bohen) is coming back and will be Stiles' (Dylan O'Brien) only hope in exile.

After years of being Alpha and keeping Beacon Hills safe under his watch, Scott will soon be leaving his pack and his Alpha status in "Teen Wolf" season 6.

"Part of the season is Scott trying to figure out, 'Can I leave Beacon Hills? Is it going to be safe without me?'" That plot line comes into prominence in the latter half of the season," said executive producer Jeff Davis in an interview with TV Line.

But while Scott is still around, he will need someone to take his place as Alpha in the pack. Scott will choose none other than Liam because he is the only other wolf in their pack.

"We've always had the idea that we would move those characters into those roles — Scott would become Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), and Liam would become Scott. We really liked the big brother, little brother relationships that they found themselves falling into," Davis explained.

It won't be an easy journey for Liam as the series will show that he will intially be unwilling to take the seat of Alpha in the pack. He will also come in conflict with a new member of the pack, which will be shown in the upcoming second episode of "Teen Wolf" season 6, titled "Superposition."

Liam will struggle to trust Mason's (Khylin Rhambo) boyfriend, Corey (Michael Johnston). But Corey will eventually earn Liam's trust, and Liam will soon be able to lead the pack.

Previously in "Teen Wolf" season 6, Stiles was taken by the Wild Hunt and he will soon find himself in limbo. He comes across Peter in the deserted dimension. Although Peter served as the series' big bad, Stiles will have no choice but to stick with him because Peter will serve as his guide in limbo.

"Teen Wolf" season 6 airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
