A whole new gameplay video for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" came out of the recently concluded Japan Amusement Expo 2016. The clip showed the impressive moves and techniques of Akuma, the fighter crossing over from the "Street Fighter" universe.
In the video that ran for a little over 20 minutes, two participants in the event squared off. The first contender played as Akuma and the other battled as Dragunov. The clip shows pretty well how strong the newcomer is, although WCCF Tech notes that he is not fully indestructible.
The "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" footage showed that there are a lot of ways to bring down Akuma. One of which is counteracting his special techniques, which is exactly what Dragunov did during the exciting bout.
This, however, does not change the fact that Akuma is still a pretty tough contender. With the right timing and moves, he should be a force to be reckoned with. It is also important to note that Akuma's visit in the "Tekken 7" realm did not alter his abilities.
He, however, comes with a purpose in "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." While in his territory, he desires nothing but to become the most powerful and feared warrior in the face of the land, Akuma comes to the game set on killing the entire Mishima clan.
At the moment, Akuma is the sole player from "Street Fighter" that is appearing on "Tekken 7." Bandai Namco does not plan on adding more from its rival fighting game's universe. On the other hand, the latest "Tekken" native to join "Tekken 7" is Nina Williams.
In related news, a Japanese arcade company's leaked game release schedule revealed that "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will hit the Japanese arcades in July this year. It is being said that it will be released on the PS4 and Xbox One at a later date.
