"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," the highly anticipated update for the latest iteration of the hit fighting game franchise, will be released in July, according to a listing posted by Japanese arcade game site AM-Net.

While there's no confirmation of this yet, it is highly likely that developer and publisher Bandai Namco will be launching the much-awaited "Tekken 7" update in July.

In the aforesaid month, July 15 to 17 to be exact, the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) otherwise known as the biggest annual esports event centered on fighting games like "Tekken 7," will be held.

The franchise, as fans already know, is a regular mainstay in the exciting affair and is definitely a partaker that fighting game fanatics always look forward to every year.

On the EVO website, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is in fact included among the lineup of games that will be available to play during the event.

Other titles include "Street Fighter 5," "Super Smash Bros Melee" and "Super Smash Bros" Wii U, "Killer Instinct," "Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3," "Pokken Tournament," "Mortal Kombat X" and "Guilty Gear Xrd."

That being said, it is highly likely that "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will indeed be released in July. It will only be matter of time before Bandai Namco makes it official.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" introduces "Street Fighter" warrior Akuma to the universe. His moves and attacks will be intact. However, he won't be out for glory this time as he has a mission to fill upon his arrival in the new battlefield.

Meanwhile, there are reports claiming that "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be released to the PS4 later this year, before 2016 comes to a close. It remains unclear, however, whether or not an Xbox One or PC version will ever see the light of day.

The arcade versions of "Tekken 7" is already available in Japan. Dates for the "Tekken 7" tout in the U.S. have also been announced.
