According to a report from Game Reactor, the upcoming fighting game "Tekken 7" will later offer DLC to add new content such as additional characters, items and accessories for the characters and new stages.

"Personally, I've always thought that fighting games were best made as a package, you release it, the players enjoy it for however long they want," explained executive producer Katsuhiro Harada. "but recently with the digital purchases and such a lot of people, the players especially, are saying that they don't mind paying, that they still want to see some new content after release."

This would mean that the game is likely going to see DLC content and that it will be paid DLC instead of a free DLC model that some games, such as "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt" had implemented. Many fighting games have done this, most particularly "Street Fighter V" and "Mortal Kombat X."

Harada did not reveal what kind of DLC is being considered for "Tekken 7" although fans speculate it will include packages for additional characters, stages and accessories to customize how the characters appear.

However, with the confirmation of DLC this means the game will launch with a few characters not readily available. Ecumenical News reveals that one such character is Jun Kazama, a notable fan favorite amongst "Tekken" enthusiasts.

With Jun not available from the start it is more likely she will be one of the first DLC characters made available. She may likely be accompanied by other famous characters such as Devil Jin, Jinpachi or different versions of Yoshimitsu.

"Tekken 7" is one of the most highly anticipated fighting games for 2017. The game launched exclusively for arcades in Japan in 2015 thus far. There are US versions of the arcade game but only for specific fighting game competitions such as EVO.

"Tekken 7" launches for Xbox One, PS4 and PC in early 2017.
