"Tekken 7" is set to make its debut on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC next year, and fans cannot wait to play the famous arcade fighting game in the comfort of their own homes. Recently, game producer Katsuhiro Harada and game designer/translator Michael Murray talked about the arrival of the game to consoles, and Harada revealed whether "Tekken 7" will make its way to PS4 Pro or Xbox Scorpio.

Speaking with Gamespot, Harada said the home version of "Tekken 7" won't be different from the arcade version of the game but will contain something extra.

"Obviously, we don't want to change the formula people expect," said Harada. "That said, with all the Tekken games, we always add extra content. One of the big features is the story mode, in addition to the arcade mode."

The game producer said that working with Unreal Engine 4 gave them more time to work and focus on the actual game design elements and that it also made the game easier to port to different platforms.

On whether the game will be available for new consoles PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio, Harada said, "Those platforms are relatively new as far as what we know about them and what's been released publicly about them. It's hard to comment on that right now."

With regard to the game appearing on Nintendo Switch, the game producer said, "We're quite surprised by the Nintendo Switch announcement; read into that what you like."

Ahead of the game's console release, a new gameplay trailer made its debut at the Golden Joystick Awards this week, which shows more of "Street Fighter" crossover character Akuma.

It has been speculated that more "Street Fighter" characters might be crossing over to future "Tekken" games, but Harada said that it's not something that they are actively thinking about at the moment. However, he did say that it would be interesting to include some other guest characters if it would make sense to the story.

"He's actually part of the story and the game — not just the backstory but actually in the story mode itself," Harada said with regard to Akuma's inclusion in "Tekken 7." "It might be interesting to include some other guest characters, if there was one that really clicked and could bring in a new audience."

"Tekken 7" lands on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2017. A specific release date has yet to be announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
