It seems like there is no current news about the development of the highly anticipated "Tekken X Street Fighter" fighting game, but it does not mean that it will not be released anymore.
In a previous report from the Japanese website Famitsu spotted by Uber Gizmo, game director Katsuhiro Harada said the development of the "Tekken X Street Fighter" game had to be put on hold so that Bandai Namco can focus on other games like the "Tekken 7" and "Pokemon Tournament." However, he revealed that they have no plans of cancelling the "Tekken X Street Fighter" game.
"I've been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we're at a pretty far stage into its development. It might seem like we haven't started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago and we've already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems," Harada said in an English-translated interview.
He also mentioned that he cannot provide a possible release date, since the game development is nowhere near its end, and they have already planned to release it earlier.
But it could be possible that they can just stage a surprise release if they can manage to finish the game at the soonest possible time.
"People have been talking about the game for such a long time that they aren't going to be surprised if you just release it normally. I don't know if that's what we have planned, but we do plan to have some kind of surprise," Harada teased.
Now that 2015 is almost over and the new year is right around the corner, fans of both the "Tekken" and "Street Fighter" games are expecting to find the crossover combat video game on store shelves next year.
