Televangelist Jim Bakker has surmised that President Donald Trump is likely the target of an assassination plot, and that there could be at least 100 hitmen out to get him.

On his television show that aired last week, Bakker discussed the potential attacks against the presidency with Paul McGuire and Troy Anderson, the authors of "Trumpocalypse: The End-Times President, a Battle Against the Globalist Elite, and the Countdown to Armageddon."

During the discussion, McGuire pointed to a part of the book that focused on the "deep state" theory that some within the U.S. government are working on a plot to assassinate Trump.

"I have been saying for months on the air, there are probably 100 hitmen hired to kill Trump, or more. I know this in the spirit. He is so hated that they want him dead," the televangelist said, according to The Christian Post.

Bakker further claimed that he has met people in prison who are willing to assassinate Trump for fame. He explained that Trump is an "End Times" president who is facing fierce opposition to his work.

The televangelist recently drew controversy after he urged believers to buy his cabins in the Ozark Mountains in Missouri to survive the soon-to-come Apocalypse.

"Do you know the people from the government, from NASA, the research from so many of them, they have said in their research that the safest place to live in troubled times is right here, that's why God brought us here," the televangelist said, according to Daily Mail. "Where are you going to go when the world's on fire? Where are you going to go?"

Bakker, who lost his ministry in the past due to allegations of fraud and sexual misconduct, is also reportedly selling 28-ounce Extreme Survival Warfare water bottles for $150.

The preacher also appears to be recommending a survival kit that includes a $4,100 generator package, seven years of food worth $2,200, a fruit bundle with a 20-year shelf life with a price tag of $450, and a $100 toilet kit called "When Nature Calls," which includes six rolls of tissue paper and a bucket with a toilet seat.

Bakker founded a ministry called PTL (Praise the Lord) in the 1980s with his then-wife, Tammy Faye.

The televangelist couple has in the past been accused of committing fraud while running the ministry. Between 1983 and 1986, the Bakkers reportedly purchased $900,000 worth of cars and several real estate properties, including two homes in Palm Springs, California.

Bakker resigned from the ministry in 1987 just before he was accused of having an affair with then-church secretary Jessica Hahn.

The televangelist has also been sent to prison for five years after he was prosecuted for fraud and conspiracy in 1989.
