Can't wait for the Tesla Model 3 even if you already got it reserved ahead of time? There is one more option for you, but it might cause you more money.

Earlier this month, American automotive company Tesla Motors surprised its customers by announcing that it is bring back the Model S with a 60 kWh battery. This is a better version of the car it offered in 2012 up to last year.

Now, the Model S 60 is also being pitched even to Model 3 reservation holders.

In a report by The Motley Fool, Tesla supposedly sent emails to some of the around 373,000 Model 3 reservation holders to offer a test drive of the Model S 60.

"We know how excited you are to receive your Model 3 and wanted to ensure you had the chance to work with myself and our team to explore the options of getting into a Tesla even sooner," the email from the car company read.

"Please let me know if I can arrange a test drive experience for you or answer any questions. We would also be happy to review your current trade-in options as well. We are here to help you build your dream car and continue our mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport," the email continued.

Some car enthusiasts may very well bite into this offer, since the Tesla Model 3 is still 18 months away from production. Given the current number of reservation holders, some may have to wait until 2019 before getting their hands on this car.

However, those who will opt to switch to the Model S 60 will have to shell out more money, almost double the price of Model 3.

According to Electrek.com, this car model will have a base price of $66,000 - still the cheapest currently offered by Tesla, but way more expensive that the Model 3, which costs only $35,000.
