Tesla Model 3 specs: Production accelerated before 2018

According to The Motor Report, there has been a reported 370,000 order reservation count for the new Tesla Model 3, which is expected to hit roads around late 2017. They gained hundreds of customers anticipating their new model after they unveiled the Model 3's midsize sedan prototype with a $35k starting price. Tesla is reported to be launched into mainstream fame with their newly-announced fourth vehicle, while proudly sports a spacious airy cabin, large upright headlamps and, in front, a smooth, slim air intake with no grille. They boast that this will be capable of reaching 100 meters per hour, with 250km on one charge.

The growing demand for their new model might not be met in time, however, as BGR reports doubts regarding Elon Musk and Co's reputation on delivering orders on the date promised. Tesla reassures customers that they are accelerating manufacturing plans to finish their 500,000 milestone by 2018. To help with funding, they also plan to raise 1.4 billion through a stock sale. Business Green states that they were able to successfully sell 6.8 million shares last Thursday.

Experts are doubtful of this accelerated schedule, as this will not only demand a lot from the Tesla manufacturers, but also from the producers of their electronic parts. Panasonic, the creator of the vehicle's high-capacity internal batteries, has to catch up to demand. Also, Tesla is said to have not finalized the exterior front designs for the Model 3 just yet, according to BGR. However, Musk reassures potential customers that the Tesla Model 3 electric cars are much easier to manufacture and assemble compared to other conventional vehicles on the market. For the short term, the company plans to release 100,000 vehicles before the end of 2017.
