Tesla will be equipping all of their cars with a brand new technology that allows the vehicles to drive on their own. Self-driving cars have been a big ambition for Tesla, and now, the company released a brand new video that further showcases how this technology works and what the vehicle's systems see when the car is on the move.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted the video on Twitter. This is a longer version of a previously released video, and it further showcases the calculations that the system makes. Shown in the video is the car recognizing pedestrians, other vehicles, trees, and even different kinds of stop lights and street signs.

A driver is still sitting behind the wheel. According to the post, a driver still needs to be seated in the car for it to go off on its own. This is likely to ensure that if the Tesla car makes a wrong decision, the driver can override it and control the vehicle manually. However, the car has yet to such a mistake and is able to reach its destination and successfully park.

In the video, three different cameras are shown: the medium range front camera, the left rear view, and right rear view camera. As reported by the Verge, the cameras pop with numerous lines and boxes. Each line represents sections of the road and the boxes cover objects like cars, pedestrians, and obstacles on the road.

Tesla claims that their vehicles will now be given this new onboard computer that is reportedly 40 times more powerful than the computers of the previous generation. This ensures more accurate processing for their vision, radar, and sonar imagery, guaranteeing more accurate and safer self-driving.

No official launch date for these new computers have been announced, but it is likely that they will be included in the new Tesla Model S and its successors.
