'The Big Bang Theory' season 9 spoilers: Bernadette tells Howard she's pregnant in episode 16

This week on "The Big Bang Theory," Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) learned that she is expecting a baby, but instead of telling Howard (Simon Helberg) right away, she decided to spill her secret to a rabbit which they found in their hot tub.

But next week, Bernadette will be breaking the exciting news to her husband and their friends, and according to showrunner Steve Molaro, things will turn out "beautifully" once she decides to reveal her pregnancy.

According to the synopsis for the episode titled "The Positive Negative Reaction," the group finds out about Bernadette's pregnancy, and they celebrate by singing karaoke.

In a first-look photo for the episode published by The Hollywood Reporter, Howard, dressed in his red bathrobe, is seen smiling as he holds onto Bernadette.

"I hesitate to get into the details of that but in the following week's episode, you get to see her tell him right at the beginning of the episode and it turned out beautifully," Molaro told THR. "He'll experience many emotions!"

The showrunner also revealed that the group will also learn about Bernadette's pregnancy. While their friends' reactions are mostly positive, there are some who will be surprised and concerned about what this means for the future.
Though this season certainly showed a lot of changes and growth among the characters, Molaro said that Bernadette's pregnancy will not change the group dynamic at all.

"Other than her not being able to drink when she's hanging with the girls, I don't think it will change that much," said the showrunner.

Molaro revealed that Howard won't mature overnight once he learns that he's going to be a father, but he certainly will be feeling the pressure to be a good provider and be the kind of dad that his own father wasn't able to be. Molaro also said that Bernadette's pregnancy will carry over into season 10.

"The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
