Next week's "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 will mark the 200th episode landmark of the long-running sitcom. This means that fans will be treated to an hour of the most epic TV experience the CBS hit comedy could offer. With the lineup of guest stars, the show is bound to deliver.
Adam West will make an appearance as himself in the special episode, which is titled "The Celebration Experimentation." The actor is best known for playing the titular character in the colorful 1960s Batman live-action series.
The 87-year-old acting legend will be the gang's surprise to Sheldon for his birthday. The above promotional photo from "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 17 shows he will be partying with everyone. He will bring the house down for sure.
This is the first time in years that Sheldon and his friends actually throw a party for his birthday and it might just be the most special one yet. West will be heralded as Sheldon and the guys' favorite superhero TV actor, considering their love for pop culture.
West has been brought up and mentioned in previous episodes of "The Big Bang Theory." Back in the show's third season, Penny revealed to Sheldon that she does not know Adam West, prompting him to impersonate West's crime-fighter character's famous line – "I'm Batman."
Howard seems to be a big fan of the superhero as well as he chose to dress up as Bruce Wayne's alter ego – West's version of course – back in the show's fourth season. It will be a dream come true for the guys to have West gracing the party.
The next "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 installment will also see the return of Christine Baranski as Leonard's mom Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, Sara Gilbert as Leslie Winkle aka Leonard's former girlfriend (returning after last appearance in season 3), John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke and Wil Wheaton as himself.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 17 "The Celebration Experimentation" airs Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
