In the next episode of "The Blacklist," Agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) will be bent on revenge against those who killed her husband Tom (Ryan Eggold).

The trailer for the upcoming installment, titled "Ruin," was just released recently, and it shows Elizabeth in a hospital bed recovering from the wounds she received from a group of killers. Her father, Raymond Reddington (James Spader), is by her side and keeping her company.

"It's been nearly a year. Tom is dead," Raymond says to her daughter, who starts weeping sadly. Apparently, she has been in a coma and finally woke up in a time where things have already passed. Now, Elizabeth has decided to live in the mountains to plan her revenge. "What's your story anyway? Up here all alone, just a lady and a dog, and a gun," a stranger asks her.

"I didn't come looking for trouble, and now I'm healed, and I'm back. But imagining what I'm going to do to Tom's killers is the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning," Elizabeth replies with a stern resolve. She prepares herself physically by running in the woods. Back at her cabin, she goes through a stack of documents to trace the killers. It appears that she is more than prepared to take on the perpetrators. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if she will be able to catch them and get her revenge.

In the last episode, the group of killers led by Ian Garvey (Jonny Coyne) murdered Tom and wounded Elizabeth in their home. Raymond and Dembe Zuma (Hisham Tawfiq) arrived a bit too late, but they were able to bring her to the hospital where she was revived.

"The Blacklist" season 5 episode 9 will hit the airwaves on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
