HBO has made the official announcement that "The Newsroom" season 3 has been set for an official release date this coming November. While this may be its final season, fans can look forward to Aaron Sorkin's political drama series on Nov. 9 to be aired on HBO.

Recent spoilers have sparked up the buzz that a character may be headed to jail soon. According to TV Wise, the third season of "The Newsroom" may follow the story of an unknown whistleblower. Anchor Will McAvoy, who is being played by Jeff Daniels, along with his staff members are expected to conduct an investigative story that may lead to complex circumstances. AWM Network president Reese Lansing, portrayed by Chris Messina, claims that he will be arrested and sent to prison which will then be followed by McAvoy's decision to resign.

HBO released a brief promo for "The Newsroom" season 3 using a copier machine that seemed to tease its audience of pieces of what is deemed as the plot itself. Such bits of dialogue has been said to be from Will's and Reese's perspectives.

Sorkin, along with co-showrunners Scott Rudin and Alan Poul, confirmed that "The Newsroom" season 3 will be comprised of only six episodes, fewer than the previous season which had nine and the first season that had ten.

Hypable released a report that indicated high expectations for Sorkin's final season. "We don't know much about what they have in store for us for season 3 of The Newsroom," Hypable commented, "but we do know that Sorkin is determined to end the show on a high note, despite the trouble that has brewed behind the scenes for the talented screenwriter."

Other cast members will be reprising their roles, including Olivia Munn as economist Sloan Sabbith, Dev Patel as Will's blog writer Neal Sampat, and Emily Mortimer as Will's ex-girlfriend Mac McHale, among others.
