The third season of "The 100" is currently on a mid-season break, but fans continue to talk about the heartbreaking death of Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) in the seventh episode of season 3.

Lexa's death left fans shocked and hurt, especially since Clarke (Eliza Taylor) had just decided to forgive her for her betrayal in the season 2 finale. Some even took to social media how devastated they were because of the character's unexpected demise.

But during her PaleyFest appearance to promote "Fear the Walking Dead," Debnam-Carey talked to The Hollywood Reporter to explain how she felt about Lexa's death and how she responds to the outrage of the fans.

According to the actress, it was incredible to hear a lot of passionate reactions to Lexa's death. But she explained that her death was not created from a negative standpoint.

"It was a creative choice and it didn't come at the expense of thinking about a social issue — maybe it should have more. But I definitely want fans to think that the love for Lexa on the show and a collaboration that we've all made on that show has only come from a good place."

But she understands where fans are coming from, since she admitted that she also feels annoyed whenever she sees TV characters leave the show without a valid explanation.

Meanwhile, fans should look forward to Bellamy's (Bob Morley) attempt to correct his wrong decisions in episode 9 of "The 100" when the series returns after its brief hiatus.

"Bellamy is definitely on the road to a decision point that he will not be able to go any further down Pike's path," showrunner Jason Rothenberg explained in an interview with TVLine.

"The question is: How far will he go down that path before that decision point happens? He definitely believes in what he's doing. He's torn. He's not a fool. He understands the extreme measures being taken, and he still believes in them at the moment, and is trusting Pike. But there will come a point, we hope, where that's no longer the case."

The upcoming episode, titled "Stealing Fire," airs when "The 100" returns on March 31 on The CW.
