It looks like the Grounders are preparing for a bloody battle when "The 100" returns for its third season.

The latest trailer released by The CW on E! confirms that Clarke (Eliza Taylor) will be on the run to save her life after the massacre that happened during the season 2 finale. Indra (Adina Porter) states the obvious in the promo video, saying that everyone is hunting Clarke because of her actions last season.

The trailer also gives a glimpse of the past when it shows the dead bodies at the dining hall in Mount Weather. It also reveals that the truce between the Grounders and the Sky People from Camp Jaha will be broken, which explains why the Grounders seem to be preparing for a big battle, based on the scene where hundreds of them are seen walking out of the forest to head to war.

Meanwhile, series showrunner Jason Rothenberg told reporters during the winter press tour of the Television Critics Association that "The 100" season 3 will go back to the conflicts shown in season 1.

"This season we get to a pure version of where the show started," Rothenberg shared. "There is internal conflict at Camp Jaha -- what was formerly known as Camp Jaha -- and there's a new group that comes in and really mixes things up and creates a lot of conflict internally."

Meanwhile, the cast of the post-apocalyptic teen drama revealed that the new season will not only focus on the action-packed war. Instead, "The 100" season 3 will feature more political conflicts than battle scenes.

"My favorite part of Season 3 is the fact that we do get to explore the world of the Grounders — their politics, their culture, their spiritual history and how it's changed and how they adapted things from what the world used to be," actress Alycia Debnam-Carey explained during the press tour, as reported by Variety.

"The 100" season 3 premieres on Jan. 21 on The CW.
