'The 100' season 4 spoilers: Octavia switching to the dark side next season

Olivia's (Marie Avgeropoulos) dark side will surface when "The 100" returns for season 4.

Avgeropoulos told IGN in May that viewers may see Octavia take a dark turn next season after everything that she has been through.

In season 3, Octavia lost her one true love, Lincoln (Ricky Whittle), under the hands of chancellor Pike (Michael Beach). But Lincoln's death became extra painful since her brother Bellamy (Bob Morley) had a hand in Pike's decision to execute her lover. This made her decide to turn against her brother and her clan to avenge Lincoln's death.

The actress explained Octavia's problem with Bellamy in season 3, saying: "She's at odds with her own brother because Octavia and Bellamy were sort of enemies this season because he was on Pike's side and he was faced with a lot of difficult decisions."

She also recognized that she is in constant conflict in making her own decisions and thinking about the decision of her family.

"Bellamy's the only family Octavia has. It's going to be tough for her next season."

But it seems like Avgeropoulous's prediction will come true, according to a teaser posted by the show's writers on their official Instagram account.

However, Morley hopes that his character and Octavia will patch things up in season 4.

"Marie and I would like their relationship to get past just Bellamy saying 'You can't do this,' and Octavia being like, 'I can!'" the actor said during the Phoenix Comicon early in June, as reported by International Business Times UK.

Other spoilers claim that season 4 may also feature how the mother-daughter relationship of Abby (Paige Turco) and Clarke (Eliza Taylor) will be repaired after the tumultuous trauma that it experienced under the hands of A.L.I.E. (Erica Cerra) in season 3. Will they be able to patch things up next season?

The CW is expected to air the premiere episode of "The 100" season 4 in early 2017.
