A shocking revelation will come out during Noah Solloway's (Dominic West) trial on the murder of Scotty Lockhart (Colin Donnell) in the upcoming season finale of the Showtime series "The Affair."

In "12," TV.com reports that the verdict of the writer's trial will be coming to an end. A turn of proceedings will reportedly lead to a startling finish, which will come as a jolt to all those present. Does this have something to do with the truth behind Alison Lockhart's (Ruth Wilson) love child? In the past episode, viewers have come to realize that Noah was not little Joanie's father. Speculations led to Scotty being the dad, as the pair were purportedly having an affair behind brother Cole's (Joshua Jackson) back. The promo shows Alison wanting to tell Noah a "secret" she had been keeping. She says she is tired of it coming between them. Is this revelation finally about Joanie?

Meanwhile, a second teaser shows Scotty and Cole losing their temper at each other in the latter's wedding. Cole has just married Luisa (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and Scotty just came back from a three-month stint in rehab. The younger man did that to prove that he was capable of managing the Lobster Roll. Last episode, Cole, Alison and Luisa bought the place to turn it into a lucrative business venture. Scotty has been very vocal of the fact that he intended to buy it himself. When he learned that his brother went ahead and purchased it without his permission, he was furious.

Scotty confronted Cole, but the latter gave assurances that if Scotty went to rehab, he would be one of their new business partners. Scotty followed Cole's advice and when he returns three months after, he is devastated to learn that he has been lied at. Cole never has any intention of letting Scotty in the trade and he admits that during the wedding. He then walks away, leaving Alison to deal with the whole thing. According to the synopsis, the confrontation between the brothers will end up in a tragedy.

"The Affair" 70-minute season 2 finale will air on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
