Award-winning actress Maura Tierney, who plays Helen in the series, said that "It's going to be back and forth a little bit more," speaking about the perspectives the show follows.

In the second season of "The Affair," the story was told through the lenses of all four characters—Noah (Dominic West), Cole a (Joshua Jackson) and Alison (Ruth Wilson) and Helen. "The Affair" season 3 is expected to do the same.

Tierney clarified that the change in the show's structure she teased earlier this year about the series will not happen in "The Affair" season 3, but rather in the fourth season, should there be one.

"If we come back for a fourth, it might be implemented then. But I think they just decided to go a different way. This way is good, too. she told the Los Angeles Times, being coy as to what this "change" is all about.

"I don't know that much. It was just going to be fun... it might still happen, so I don't want to say," she said of her coyness about it.

"The Affair" season 3 will further delve into the mystery of who really killed Scotty (Colin Donnell). Helen and Allison believe that it's their fault.

The former was the one driving the car that ran over Scotty while the latter pushed him to the road after his intoxication caused him to bit a little bit too rude and touchy to her.

However, it appears that "The Affair" season 3 would not wrap up this mystery yet as the new season will start with a time jump, according to executive producer Anya Epstein.

"It also jumps around as it gets going. You're going to see the beginning and then you're seeing some time before that. We're experimenting a little bit more this season," she told Hollywood Life.

"The Affair" season 3 premieres Nov. 20 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
