New faces with new story arcs are set to join "The Affair."

Cristopher Meyer, who previously appeared in "The Fosters," has been cast for the fourth season of "The Affair." Meyer is set to play the character of Anton Gatewood, a brilliant high school student with a rebellious streak. Anton will try to find himself while struggling with self-sabotage and doubt.

Meyer joins another new cast member joining "The Affair" season 4, Sanaa Lathan, who will be playing Janelle. Her character is said to be one of the central characters' love interest.

Described as a tough lady, Lathan's character is a school administrator who will clash with her entire faculty while also developing a soft spot for one of them. Janelle will have multiple appearances throughout the season so it's most likely that she'll be around for some time.

Aside from new cast members, a new storyline will follow the lives of "The Affair'" central characters as it finds Noah (Dominic West), Alison (Ruth Wilson), Cole (Joshua Jackson) and Helen (Maura Tierney) living their own lives and distanced from one another. Their lives will have further drifted apart from where they all started out in the series.

The new season will see each of them being in a new relationship, encountering situations where each of them is forced to make a decision of forging ahead or looking back and returning to the desires of their hearts.

In each of its seasons, "The Affair" has maintained its essence by exploring the different facets and effects of an affair as seen from the eyes of all involved parties.

It can be remembered that in the show's last season, Noah came back to the United States without Juliette (Irene Jacob), who chose to stay behind in France. With new characters coming in, it looks like it's over between the two.

"The Affair" is expected to return to Showtime in 2018.
