The Bachelor's Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici welcome their first child

The Bachelor stars Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici-Lowe have welcomed their first child.

Guidici, 30, gave birth to a baby boy, the pair announced on Saturday, July 2.

Lowe and Giudici-Lowe have since shared photos of their son with fans on social media.

In one picture posted on Giudici-Lowe's Instagram account she's pictured holding her newborn son in her hospital bed.

She captioned the photo with: "Samuel Thomas, I think I'm in love :)"

Lowe also uploaded a photo of himself and his son. In the image which he captioned: "My boy and me", the 32-year-old reality star can be seen smiling as he cradles the baby boy in his arms.

The star of The Bachelor's 17th season took to Twitter to express his appreciation for everyone's prayers and to praise God: "God is good! We had a healthy baby boy named Samuel Thomas. Thank you everyone for your prayers and support!"

Lowe and Giudici-Lowe fell in love on the hit dating reality TV show, The Bachelor, in 2013 and got engaged in the season finale.

The two married the following year in a ceremony which was broadcast as a live televised special for ABC.

The pair is one of the rare couples in the show to have lasted and only the second to have married and have a child together after meeting on the show.

Lowe, a Christian, spoke openly about his and his wife's decision to practise abstinence before they got married.

In an interview with People in which he and his now wife were quizzed on their decision to abstain before getting married, Lowe said: "From my perspective, I've lived life kind of selfishly for a long time...Now, I'm going to try to live it the way I know to be right."

Giudici-Lowe also responded to questions about their joint decision to wait until their wedding night, stating: "I honour him."
