Games, especially high-budgeted ones, would usually take long to develop, and even when a release date has been announced, delays are sometimes inevitable. That is not the case for the last chapter of "The Banner Saga" game series. "The Banner Saga 3" will be getting an earlier release date due this summer.

Developer Stoic made the exciting announcement themselves. The game was originally planned for a release this December, but it will now be coming out in the summer. To pair with the announcement, the company is also going to release a series of trailers featuring their famous characters. The first one is about Fasolt, the Loyalist.

Note, however, if players have not played the first two "The Banner Saga" games but plan to do so, the trailer contains spoilers for both games. Like in any journey that is about to end, the trailer showcases previous scenes from the previous games. "The Banner Saga 3" is the last chapter of their quest beyond the wall of Darkness.

Player choices were always a big thing for the previous games. Players can expect a lot more of that with even more important choices to make. Of course, they should also expect newer monsters to take on, maybe even some unexpected plot twists may just happen.

"The Banner Saga 3" has had a supportive fanbase. Back in 2014 during their first game, they sold more than 800,000 copies on PC alone via Steam. When the developers started crowdfunding for this third game, they were able to gain twice the amount they needed. According to PC Gamer, they earned a total of $416,986 with their goal only at $200,000.

As for now, there is no exact release date given yet, but fans will take any good news they can get, and an early release window is definitely good news.
