"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 may be mark the end of the geek-filled comedy. This is what showrunner Steve Molaro hinted at in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter as the hit comedy prepares for the latter half of the current season.

"The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point," Molaro stated. Although it feels like the series is drawing closer to its eventual conclusion, the showrunner said that it is best to just relish every installment that leads up to it.

"The real answer is I don't know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can. There's still so many episodes to go," Molaro hinted, adding that the possibly nearing end of "The Big Bang Theory" is not something to dwell on at this time.

Molaro prefers to deal with the reality of the show's end "way down the line," when the end for Sheldon and friends' story really reached the last page. As for show co-creator Chuck Lorre, the idea of determining an expiration date for the beloved CBS gem is just "ridiculous."

Lorre is just ecstatic and proud that they are now doing "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 with season 10 is just close on the horizon. "As long as everybody is having a good time and we're making a show we're proud of... then it's worth continuing," he stated.

For fans of the long-running series, the show does feel like it is going for a curtain call soon than later. The gang has come a long way from the first time long-time fans saw and knew of their story.

Leonard and Penny are already married while Sheldon and Amy have consummated their relationship. Howard and Bernadette are planning to start a family while Raj finally found the courage to talk to ladies and eventually get a girlfriend.

Whether or not "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will tie the show in a pretty bow, only time will tell. For now, viewers can check back in on the gang with "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 12 titled "The Sales Call Sublimation," airing Jan. 7 on CBS.
