It was previously reported that actress June Squibb will be portraying Sheldon Cooper's (Jim Parsons) grandmother, whom he affectionately calls his Meemaw, in "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 14. However, more details have emerged regarding Meemaw's role in the episode and it will resolve one of the show's hanging plotlines.

According to a report from the IB Times, it has been leaked online that Meemaw will not be too friendly toward Sheldon's girlfriend, Amy (Mayim Bialik). The report cites that this will be due to the fact that Amy broke up with Sheldon during the season 8 finale.

When Sheldon steps in to defend Amy, things get even more complicated as Meemaw will finally unveil Sheldon's secret. It is explained that Meemaw will reveal to Amy Sheldon's plan to propose and even brings up the engagement ring that Sheldon was supposed to give Amy back in season 8.

The report points out that executive producers Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro previously mentioned that the ring will come into play in future episodes and it appears that episode 14 will be the episode the two are referring to. This will conclude the plotthread from season 8 while also opening the opportunity for Amy to Sheldon to get married.

However, the episode will not focus entirely on Sheldon and Amy as the report also points out that Raj (Kunal Nayyar) will get some of the spotlight as well. He'll encounter a girl named Claire and the latter will want to collaborate with Rah since she is reportedly writing for a children's sci-fi series. He will decline however as he is committed to his relationship with his current girlfriend, Emily (Laura Spencer).

Emily has been upgraded to a semi-regular in season 9 and it is likely that this episode will begin fleshing out her character more and fans will see more appearances from her before the season ends.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 14 airs this Feb. 4.
