'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 spoilers: Season to be show's last?

CBS

"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 might be the last of the long-running sitcom, according to cast member Kunal Nayyar, who plays the role of Raj.

"Look, next season, as it stands on our contract, could be the last season of 'Big Bang Theory,'" the actor told the audience at the MCM London Comic Con, as quoted by Movie Web.

"To be completely honest... I know people are going to want to know what happens after season 10. I don't know what's going to happen," Nayyar went on to say.

It's not just the actor who thinks that "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will see the Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and the gang take their final bow.

Even showrunner Steve Molaro once told E! Online that "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 may be the "ending point." Molaro then said that he would like to focus episode by episode "and try to make each one the best that we can" instead of thinking of the end.

"The Big Bang Theory" has gone long enough for its main characters to make big changes in their lives. Leonard has already remarried Penny (Kaley Cuoco) while Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) are expecting their first child. Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) have already consummated their relationship.

The story of the group of friends has gone so far along and they have watched each other change and take monumental steps in their lives. It almost feels like "The Big Bang Theory" is setting the stage for the characters' happy ending already.

As for what to expect in "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 following the cliffhanger in the season 9 finale, Penny's mom, who happens to be one of the family members of the main cast who have yet to appear, might finally arrive. The real score between Leonard's father and Sheldon's mom will also be revealed when the new season arrives.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 is slated to premiere this fall. Whether or not it will be the final season, only time will tell.
