In the midseason finale of "The Blacklist," Liz Keen (Megan Boone) was captured after she spent months running away from the FBI with Red (James Spader) as they tried to get proof that she is innocent. With Liz now in the custody of the FBI, fans will get to see the former agent inside the glass box which used to house Red. And while this will certainly be a challenge for her, it looks like she will be dealing with more than that because a familiar face will return to stir things up.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Margarita Levieva will be returning to reprise her role as Gina Zanetakos in an episode which will air in early February. The character first appeared on season 1 after the pivotal scene where Liz found a box hidden under the floorboards of her home that contained her ex-husband Tom's (Ryan Eggold) multiple passports. It was later revealed that he was a spy. Red told Liz about Gina, who is also a spy and Tom's lover. Unlike other Blacklisters, Gina was not killed but was offered a deal in exchange for a testimony.

Meanwhile, details on the winter premiere have been released and when the show returns next week, viewers will immediately find out what happens after Liz's arrest and whether Red will be able to keep her from being harmed by The Cabal.

According to the synopsis for the episode titled "The Director: The Conclusion," Red will ask the task force to help him outmaneuver The Cabal in order to exonerate Liz before the terrorist group assasinates her. It will be interesting to see how Red will use his knowledge of criminal behavior to get Liz out of danger.

"The Blacklist" returns with a brand new episode on Thursday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
