In the next episode of "The Blacklist," there are two important things that will happen. The first is that Liz learns about the serial killer named "The Deer Hunter," and the next is Tom's return. Who is this serial killer and why is Tom back? 

Season 2 episode 13 is titled "The Deer Hunter" and the official synopsis goes: 

"When Liz (Megan Boone) learns of a serial killer known as The Deer Hunter, who tracks his victims like prey, Red (James Spader) will help the task force search for the killer. Meanwhile, the local DC police are going to suspect the city Harbormaster was murdered as Liz struggles to keep her secret from unraveling." 

NBC released the promo clip for "The Deer Hunter" and it opens by saying that the killer has been active for over a decade already.

"There is a reason why they call this blacklister The Deer Hunter, but it won't be what shocks them," says the voice-over. Then Red says, "Because she's a woman." 

Meanwhile, Tom Keen is back and there's a reason why. The DC Harbormaster was killed and Tom is the primary suspect. There is no way that the task force is letting Tom go that easily as they try to dig up his dirty past and find whatever they can use to link him to the murder. 

As for Cooper, his health continues to deteriorate and humbly declines a promotion because of his sickness. Nonetheless, he remains hopeful about his condition as the Attorney General will try to get him help. 

Red is pretty busy in this episode, too. He tracks down the safe that Alan Fitch told him about before his demise. Red is able to retrieve it and sees a phone number written on a piece of paper. He calls it and meets up with a stranger. 

"The Blacklist" airs its new episode in Feb. 26, 8 p.m., on NBC.
