Liz (Megan Boone) will owe her life to Samar (Mozhan Marno) in the upcoming winter finale of the NBC series "The Blacklist."

In "Kings of the Highway," CarterMatt reports that the former FBI agent will get separated from her protector all season, Red (James Spader) and her life will be in danger. Support will come from an unexpected source, however, as Samar decides to make the precarious choice of helping her. It appears that the Bureau, with Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) at the lead, will be able to track where Liz is hiding. They will launch a manhunt for her, which they hope will result in a capture.

The promo released by the NBC shows an intense foot chase in the woods. Ressler is seen running after Liz and it looks like he is about to finally catch her. Liz seems to know they are coming, though, which means Samar may have indeed reached out to warn her that the FBI is closing in. Will Liz be able to escape capture once again? As for Ressler, come crunch time, will he really apprehend his friend and former colleague?

Samar's decision to help Liz stay alive will reportedly cause friction between her and Ressler. The new lovers had a hot hookup last episode, as they both sought comfort from each other after a particular harrowing day. Samar gave up her brother, who was actually the notorious Iranian assassin, Zal Bin Hasaan (Sammy Sheik). Ressler had been feeling the pressure of apprehending Liz from the higher-ups and was feeling down that he had no option but to betray a friend. In the clip, Ressler is seen telling Samar that she is protecting Liz. Samar replied that if they bring her to the FBI, she will die.

Meanwhile, Red will also find himself in a dangerous situation. He is seen at an impasse, with a man pointing a gun to his head. Did his master plan to use Hasaan as bargaining chip go down the drain? The assassin is supposed to be his key to a mysterious meeting that would help him expose the Cabal and ultimately clear Liz's name. Will he get out of the situation alive?

"The Blacklist" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
