The FBI has finally captured Liz (Megan Boone) during the winter finale of the NBC series "The Blacklist," but her entourage has not given up on her. Red (James Spader), Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) will reportedly make sure she does not stay imprisoned for long.

Executive producer Jon Bokenkamp has revealed EW Spoiler Room that the three men would have to learn to get along to come up with a plan to save her. This would particularly pertain to Tom and Ressler, as they have not seen eye to eye for a long time. The executive producer said that Liz's ex-husband would do anything to exonerate her, and in doing so, he would find himself working with Liz's former partner. This partnership, however, would reportedly be a torture for them both.

"There's no love lost between those two guys. I would expect to see them perhaps unite in some sort of way to help Liz. It kills them both to have to do it. What happens when they recognize that they have the same agenda?" Bokenkamp quipped.

Aside from Tom, Ressler would also turn to Red, as his plans to keep Liz safe went down the drain. The situation would reportedly force the agent to "improvise" and handle things in "a non-traditional way." As for Red, who remains on the run, his plans to get her back would be "less about her safety and more about leveling the playing field." This was because the Director (David Strathairn) would now be taking the helm in the upcoming episodes, and Bokenkamp hinted that the character would not be so easy to take down.

In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, the executive producer disclosed that the big villain for the next episodes would be the Director. He said that he, like Red, has a strong personality and is very powerful.

"He has incredible connections. He's the head of the national clandestine services, so he has great resources at hand, and it's going to be up to Red and our team to find a way to wiggle out of this," Bokenkamp shared.

"The Blacklist" will return with "The Director: Part 1" on Jan. 7, 2016 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
