'The Blacklist' season 4 episode 8 spoilers: Red and Liz's connection to be revealed in fall finale episode

It has now been revealed that Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) is not Liz's (Megan Boone) father, but that doesn't mean he's done with her. In season 4 episode 8, which also happens to be the fall finale, Liz and Reddington (James Spader) will be crossing paths with Kirk again, and this time, Red's relationship to Liz will be laid bare.

The synopsis of the episode, courtesy of Cartermatt, Red is going to be pressuring Dr. Shaw (Linda Emond) to find one of her former patients. It is widely speculated that this patient may have knowledge regarding Kirk or may know a secret that may aid Liz and Red with regards to dealing with Kirk.

However, the official promo trailer reveals that Kirk will be the one to find them. He is shown being able to use his men and storm into the hospital, getting past its guards and, once again, kidnapping Liz. He won't get too far with her this time as the trailer shows Red making a deal, offering his life in exchange for Liz's.

By the end of the trailer, Kirk is shown restraining Red and then asks if the latter is Liz's father.

The mystery of Liz's father has been a shadow that has pervaded the series since it began. There have always been speculations that Red may be Liz's father, but he had denied this in the past. Even Kirk himself thought he was Liz's father until this was just recently medically disproven.

One of the most prominent theories is that Red knows who killed Liz's father and that he made a promise to watch over Liz like she was his own daughter.

According to Cartermatt, the episode may hold even more surprises and a cliffhanger that won't be resolved until the latter half of season 4 premieres next year.

"The Blacklist" season 4 episode 8, "Dr. Adrian Shaw: Conclusion," airs on Nov. 10.
