In the next episode of "The Blacklist," Director Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) and his team go after an elusive criminal who will do anything to save her dying son.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "The Endling" was just released recently and showed the criminal Nirah Ahmad (Poorna Jagannathan) gunning down police in a hallway. "Is there a force in the universe more powerful than a mother's love for her child?" Raymond Reddington (James Spader) asks the team. Apparently, the wanted blacklister is killing people not for self-gain but to save the life of her kid in the hospital.

"She has a child who needs a heart transplant," Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) says to Cooper. However, he adamantly says in return, "She's butchering people to save her son." Ahmad is shown subduing authorities with a taser seemingly at the hospital. Then she was able to get in the room to see her dying child. It remains to be seen if her kid will be saved and if she will get captured by Cooper's special task force.

In the last episode, Cooper's team led by Keen and Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) took down killer cops that were managed by Rebecca Thrall. She did this by allotting the police officers more insurance money if they would kill her targets. Unfortunately for Thrall, Keen, and Ressler were able to apprehend one of the dirty cops and lure Thrall to her.

When Thrall approached the cop in the car, she fired off at the officer hoping to kill any loose ends. However, Keen was in the car with a bulletproof vest and stepped out to arrest Thrall. FBI backup arrived and took the criminal away.

"The Blacklist" season 5 episode 4 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
