NBC's freshman drama television series "The Brave" will wrap up next week with the show's fall finale. The ninth episode titled "Desperate Times" will see the team confront a mission that hits close to home after having embarked on several tasks to keep the world safe.

The episode synopsis from TV Guide indicate that things will take an unexpected turn during the team's latest task that will force them to risk one of their own for their last chance at settling the personal score. Whether the team will make it out of the mission as a whole will remain a mystery until next week.

The promo for "Desperate Times" opens with the moment when a truck wired with explosives drove off-road and headed towards Dalton (Mike Vogel) and the rest of the team who were playing a friendly game of soccer with local children at the beach. The preview then shows Dalton discussing how they will proceed with the mission to get the terrorist responsible for the bombing. It also indicates how the terrorist meets the necessary criterion necessary for lethal action and suggests that Jaz (Natacha Karam) is calling the shots for this operation.

Meanwhile, "The Brave" has gotten a slight lift in ratings for the recent episodes. Shows like "Superior Donuts" and CW's "Valor" also enjoyed small rises in ratings, per Deadline.

"The Brave" will take a holiday broadcast hiatus and have its midseason premiere at the very start of the New Year on Monday, Jan. 1. This also means that the show will only have a handful of its initial 13-episode order left by next year. It has yet to be announced if the show will get a second season, but based on the rise of its ratings, it is likely that fans will see "The Brave" return for a sophomore season.

"The Brave" fall finale will air on Monday, Nov. 20 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
