After years of waiting, Netflix finally dropped the official trailer of the much-anticipated web series, "The Defenders." Studded with heroes from the other Netflix-Marvel series, the trailer is packed with action, drama, sass, and questions.

Two years ago, Netflix teased fans about a superhero series that is filled with the impossible to defeat villains, stressed out superheroes, and countless explosions. It was a long wait for the fans but the entertainment giant finally came through with the first full trailer of "The Defenders." The web series will be featuring "Daredevil" actor Charlie Cox, "Luke Cage" actor Mike Colter, "Iron Fist" actor, Finn Jones, and finally, "Jessica Jones" actress Krysten Ritter. They will be making up the "mini-Avengers" team who will be tasked to save New York from new villain Alexandra who is portrayed by Sigourney Weaver from "Ghostbusters."

The series will also feature Claire Temple who is played by Rosario Dawson in both "Luke Cage" and "Jessica Jones." According to International Business Times, Dawson's missing character in the upcoming "Punisher" series has the rumor mill circulating with news that she might not make it past "The Defenders." What could this mean for Luke and Jessica, whose relationship sizzled out in the final episode of "Jessica Jones"?

In the comic universe, the couple was one of the few to survive Marvel's notorious toxic relationships that usually ended up badly. However, in the Marvel cinematic universe, Netflix deviated from it by introducing Claire as the new love interest in "Luke Cage." Now that both Claire and Jessica are seen in "The Defenders" trailer, it is possible the Luke might have to choose in between saving New York against Alaxandra.

Based on Netflix's reputation, fans can expect character development and storyline progress. Indeed, it seems that the producers of "The Defenders" will most likely shed light on the matter. The Netflix original series "The Defenders" will premiere on Aug. 18. Meanwhile, fans will have to dissect the trailer for anything that can predict what's going to happen not only to Claire but to the band of superheroes set to fight against an immortal.
