Fans are getting an earlier look at "The Division," thanks to some recently leaked gameplay footage.

The new gameplay footage comes courtesy of a recently concluded alpha testing period for the game that took place earlier this month.

What's arguably the most interesting thing about the newly leaked footage is that people aren't supposed to be seeing it yet.

According to GameSpot, participants in the closed alpha testing for "The Division" were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements that were supposed to prevent them from sharing or leaking any images and videos that involved the game. 

At the very least, it looks as though one participant has violated that non-disclosure agreement.

Since the gameplay footage was not intended to be seen just yet, this means that fans can expect Ubisoft to start taking down the videos very soon, PC Gamer reported.

As for the footage itself, it shows off some areas of the game that were previously kept from public view.

The footage also gives fans an idea of what "The Division's" character selector is like and it also shows off how encounters with other players will take place inside the game, according to Eurogamer.

The most recent closed alpha testing session was for the Xbox One port of "The Division."

Players who are looking to see more of the game can pre-order it to gain access to the closed beta that will be launching early in 2016.

Unlike the recently concluded closed alpha, next year's closed beta of "The Division" will be available for personal computer (PC), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

"The Division" was originally meant to be launched way back in 2014 before issues with the game pushed back its release back to this year. Unfortunately, problems would yet again plague the development of the game this year, leading to it being delayed once again.

"The Division" is currently expected to be launched in March 2016.
