The open beta for the much-anticipated "Tom Clancy's The Division" first-person shooter ended Sunday. However, it seemed that publisher Ubisoft wanted to end the event with a loud cheer from the players, as special rewards were presented to some of the open beta participants.

According to GameRant, Ubisoft decided on the special rewards as a way of acknowledging the massive support that "The Division" open beta had garnered, particularly among the hardcore fans of the genre. For example, the industry follower mentioned that as indication, as much as a combined 275 million members of The Cleaners clan – one of the enemy groups in the game – were exterminated in the open beta alone. Since the beta only ran for the entire weekend, the number represents a high amount of players participated in the open beta, which also hints at continuing interest in the full version of the game.

VG247 said that some players have reported seeing some additional rewards in their inventory, as part of getting rid of the Cleaners. Reportedly, Ubisoft released a number of new "fire kit" for players, consisting of three explosive bullets, three incendiary ammo, and three frag grenades. There was also a reward rolled out for players who ventured in the Dark Zone, which is the PVP section of the game in online multiplayer mode. However, the PVP section was closed in the beta. Instead, players tested out their skills in the Cleaners operation by going against a group of tougher, more AI-focused Cleaners groups.

The open beta lasted over the weekend for the three platforms. Originally, the open beta was scheduled in the last weeks of January, with Xbox One players getting their first crack at the test run, and PlayStation 4 and PC versions next. However, the beta's scheduled run was adjusted.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" will release on March 8.
