Several reports online say that Bethesda has already confirmed that the much-awaited "The Elder Scrolls 6" is already being planned, but the company hasn't released details about the game's development progress and possible release date. Even so, loyal fans still expect that the game will make its debut sometime within the next two years.

According to Yibada, it seems that the wait will be much longer than that as Peter Hines — the game developer's vice president — clarified that while the game is definitely part of Bethesda's plans, "The Elder Scrolls 6" is still not the company's number one priority as of now. He even went so far as to say that it will be coming, but not soon enough for most players and that currently, no work is being done for this game.

Of course, fans are still hopeful about the game's immediate release. After the recently concluded Gamescom event this year, many are disheartened as this highly-awaited game title was noticeably absent. This is understandable since Bethesda has two other projects they have yet to reveal. At this point, it is still uncertain whether these games are sequels or entirely new ones.

Also, another possible reason for "The Elder Scrolls 6's" delay is the fact that Bethesda has been receiving a lot of negative comments for Fallout 4," especially concerning the PS4 mods release delay. As such, Bethesda has a lot of things to deal with before they can even start developing the sixth title for "The Elder Scrolls" series.

On the other hand, Morning News USA reports that some believe that the new game will be "Dark Souls"-inspired. Once they are done dealing with their current issues, Bethesda will have plenty of time to work on "The Elder Scrolls 6," as long as quality and performance is not compromised.
