Speculation regarding the possible release date of "The Elder Scrolls 6" has been all over the Internet in recent months, and now, the latest rumors are saying that the game may not be coming out for a while.

According to the Latino Post, the most probable release date for "The Elder Scrolls 6" would be sometime in 2019.

Four years may seem like a long time to wait for the arrival of the next game from the franchise, but considering just how little official news has actually come out regarding the game, it also seems to be a reasonable assessment.

Rumors that came out earlier this year had the game supposedly on track to release by 2017 or even 2016, while truly aggressive estimates suggested that "The Elder Scrolls 6" may even end up being released before the end of 2015. That certainly does not appear to be the case any longer, and it would mesh with what officials from game developer and publisher Bethesda Softworks have been saying about it all along.

In an interview with Dual Shockers, Bethesda Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing Pete Hines revealed that it would be a "very long time" before the company even so much as talked about what game they would work on next after "Fallout 4," let alone actually release.

Such a statement makes sense given how thoroughly Bethesda has focused on "Fallout 4," and even though the game is set to release next week, Bethesda is still expected to work on other features as well as DLC related to it that may also require more of their time and energy.

The setting of "The Elder Scrolls 6" is also unclear, at least for now.

In an interview with the Telegraph UK, Hines referenced the next game in the franchise as "Skyrim 2," although that may have just been a remark with no real significance.

Rumors regarding the game also suggest that the next installment may be featuring the Argonian race.
