At the E3 convention this year, developers of the Elder Scrolls game title confirmed that the new edition was not being actively developed as of now. Despite this dampening news, the excitement surrounding the next Elder Scrolls game from Bethesda Softworks continues to skyrocket.

Two of the core people on the team have made official statements about how the sixth installment of the game may not be launched in the near future. Bethesda's vice president Pete Hines tweeted: "I am not giving out any information about TES6 until we formally reveal it."

IGN noted that the gaming studio's director Todd Howard revealed, with regard to the anticipated game, "[Elder Scrolls 6 is] kind of like the elephant in the room, always, when we talk about anything," Howard explained, "and you know, I think it's good in these moments to tell our fans yes, of course we are [working on it] – it's something we love – but it is... you know, I have to be careful what I say, it's a very long way off."

The director went on to explain that although they have a pretty clear idea of what they intend to do with the new title, the technology that is required to pull it off might take some time to develop.

While the release date for the game remains a frustrating mystery, fans may have to find consolation in the fact that Bethesda has another little treat ready for them. As MNR Daily reports, come October 28^th, the Remastered Edition of "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Windows PC. This reworked version is believed to feature more detailed aesthetics that are better looking than the ones in the earlier version. Other specifics of the imminent edition include screen-space reflections and dynamic field depth. Pre-orders on the PlayStation store are available for $59.99.
