The successor of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" may be announced in Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). However, the game itself may still be a long way off.

These are based on a Twitter post made by Pete Hines, vice president for public relations and marketing at Bethesda, who teased fans by posting this image, and hinting that the company will be showing "so many things" come E3. In another post, Hines again twitted his followers with a map where the different games of the company are shown in different sectors, with "Bethesdaland" serving as the label at the front. What is noticeable in the image are two areas that seem to be under construction, which may hint at two games that will be revealed during E3.

While Hines did not reveal any other detail about this, fans believe that it could be related to a new "The Elder Scrolls" title, considering that "Skyrim" was received positively by fans and critics alike. However, Telegiz also points out that Bethesda is also currently working on other games, such as "Fallout," "New Vegas," "The Evil Within," and "Wolfenstein: The New Order," and these are also as likely to be presented in E3 as "The Elder Scrolls VI."

Even if the game is announced this E3, it is not likely that it will be released within the year. In a separate article, Telegiz indicates that the game is still a "long way off," the exact words used by Bethesda head Todd Howard in E3 2016. Nonetheless, it reports the possibility of the game finally including multiplayer mode, which was not present in its earlier titles. It also proposes that the game may be playable on virtual reality, given the development of Microsoft's Project Scorpio.

Bethesda has yet to provide details on what the company will be presenting this E3.
