Scary and terrifying as it already is, "The Evil Within 2" is about to get even more horrific as a new update for the horror game adds an immersive first-person mode.

This makes the game a lot more suspenseful due to the fact that first-person perspectives in video games always offer a narrower field of view, meaning there might be some dangerous things and enemies that players will not be able to see right away. The update is available for all platforms including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC.

The publisher of the game, Bethesda, has noted that changing perspectives in-game has been made easy, with simply a press of a button in the in-game menu should players start to feel claustrophobic with their view. Nevertheless, the game will certainly become more engaging with the first-person feature and everyone who has played "The Evil Within 2" should at least give it a try.

Meanwhile, Tango Gameworks, the game's developer has released a statement via producer Shinsaku Ohara: "A lot of players like playing horror games in first-person, so for those who want to see some of the game's situations through Sebastian's eyes, it's a really neat experience. I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you're in third-person. Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs."

This means that players will be able to see what the grotesque creatures in-game really look like from a more intimate perspective, some of which are even nightmare-inducing in design. For PC owners, however, this is nothing new, as they have discovered that a first-person mode is actually readily available for the game through a command line parameter back in October last year.

This time its official though, meaning the developers could improve whatever bugs and glitches it may cause with the game.
