It seems that "The Evil Within" is something to watch out for, as game creator Shinji Mikami, who also created "Resident Evil," said that uncertainty is one of the unique features of his latest game.

Mikami is famous for "Resident Evil," a game that has spawned sequel after sequel of games as well as a number of movie adaptations. His new game, "The Evil Within," will be launched in October. He said that he wants to create situations where players will be uncertain whether they will live or die any moment.

"I'm interested in vulnerable characters, in normal human beings," Mikami told The Guardian. "The horror experience is most scary when the player really isn't sure whether their character is going to live or die -- death and survival need to be on a constant see-saw. If there's a situation where you're not 100% sure that you can avoid or defeat the enemies, if you feel maybe there's a chance you'll make it -- that's where horror lies. Creating that situation is vital."

The game maker also added that he steered away from horror video games where characters will just have to shoot the monsters or enemies. It seems that the developer is going for making a new game where players will have to think and make decisions.

The main point of the game is to survive, and it does not mean that one has to battle the enemies head-on. Based on the preview of the game, players will have to run and hide in order to stay alive. The game is not for players with a faint heart.

He also knowingly said that the psychology behind horror is that people are scared differently. That is the reason why the antagonists of his works are humans or are in human forms, since most people are afraid of their own kind.

"The Evil Within" will be up for grabs starting Oct. 14 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
