More superheroes and supervillains are being brought to life on screen. The CW is on the move for a spinoff of "The Flash" and "Arrow" that involves Brandon Routh as billionaire inventor Ray Palmer who introduces his powerful self to the world as The Atom.

The big project was teased during the Television Critics Association press tour back in January, but it was difficult to make out details in that vague tipoff. Now, more concrete details are on hand. What's in the said spinoff being developed by "Arrow" showrunners Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, is really stellar.

A superhero team-up is on the cards as characters and actors from the aforementioned The CW hit shows will be tapped for the still unnamed project. Victor Garber, who plays Dr. Martin Stein also known as the half of the ever-destructive Firestorm, is on board. Wentworth Miller, who played Captain Cold, branded as one of the Scarlet Speedster's major rivals will also bring damage in the upcoming spinoff. Lastly, Caity Lotz, who played the role of the original Canary who died in the current season of "The Flash," is said to shake up the ensemble. It is unclear though whether the actress will play the same role or a new character in the spinoff.

Deadline also reports that not one, not two, but three DC Comics characters will be gracing the offshoot and these characters have yet to make it to the small screen. The site, however, has not given further details about its claims. Nevertheless, having a slew of fresh faces on television is, more often than not, a great thing. Besides, having a bigger band of superheroes involved and putting together a menacing squadron of enemies after them simply work great magic.

As the superhero spinoff series hits the road, there is growing expectations that the aforementioned characters will not be the only ones to put in an appearance in the show.
