Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will don a new costume in the sophomore season of "The Flash," beginning this fall.

The original suit, designed by costume designer Colleen Atwood, has been revised by The CW's resident costume designer Maya Mani.

The costume designer, who also made Stephen Amell's costume for "Arrow," talked about the Scarlet Speedster's costume in an interview with Fashionista.

"I added a little bit more to the arms, the chest has been curved out from the original design and the color of his crest has changed," Mani shared. The designer also made Barry's costume for his superhero alter ego closer to its comic book version by putting a white background for the lightning bolt.

The CW's resident designer also shared how she got the inspiration for the costumes of the network's DC characters. "I look at the iconic comic book character and then what I try and do is extrapolate from that and bring it into a more grounded universe," Mani said.

The premiere episode of "The Flash" season 2, titled "The Man Who Saved Central City," will pick up months after Central City has been attacked by Singularity. The episode will show the guilt-stricken Barry, who is still having a hard time forgiving himself for the death of his friend Eddie (Rick Cosnett).

Since he believes that he brings destruction to the people close to him, Barry tries to push all his loved ones away and decides to save Central City on his own. But when a meta-human named Atom Smasher (Adam Copeland) appears in Central City to spread chaos, Barry's long-time friend and love interest Iris (Candice Patton) tells him that he should start allowing his friends to help him with securing the city from the meta-human's destructive power for the sake of the city's residents. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) assists Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force.

"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 6, on The CW.
