'The Flash' season 2 Diggle crosses over to take down King Shark

King Shark as seen in The Flash season 2The CW

King Shark will be coming back to "The Flash" season 2 and this time John Diggle (David Ramsey) from "Arrow" will be coming to help Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash (Grant Gustin) to take him down, according to a report from ComicBook.com.

"Diggles arrive in Central City to help Barry take on King Shark who has escaped from ARGUS and is hellbent on completing his mission of destroying The Flash," confirmed series show runner Andrew Kreisberg.

Unfortunately, Kreisberg did not state exactly how King Shark broke out of ARGUS' prison facilitiy.

Like previous crossovers, it is likely that Diggle popping up in "The Flash" will prompt with one of "The Flash" characters coming in "Arrow" season 4.

King Shark, a humanoid great white shark, appeared early on in the season and was going to kill The Flash but was instantly taken down by Earth-Two's Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh). In the DC comic books, King Shark started out as an enemy for Superboy but later became a member of the Suicide Squad and even fought Aquaman, The Flash and others.

When the DC Comics were rebooted with the "New 52" lineup, King Shark was given a design change and now resembles a hammerhead shark instead of a great white. ComicBook also reports that the King Shark seen on the show is indeed from Earth-Two and that there is also an Earth-One counterpart.

Actor David Ramsey previously teased that there would be a second crossover this season when he posted a photo on his Instagram account. The photo showcased the actor standing by the writer's room of "The Flash" and "Arrow." His captions mentioned both shows, further implying that they would crossover following the mid-season break.

King Shark and John Diggle's appearance will be on "The Flash" season 2 episode 15. No official title or release date for the episode has been released at the time of writing.
