'The Flash' season 2 spoilers: Geomancer added to list of villains

The CW

"The Flash" season 2 has already seen a plethora of new villains and characters but it appears that one more new villain will be added to the roster. According to a report from ComicBook.com, Adam Fells aka the Geomancer will be introduced following the midseason break and will be played by actor Adam Stafford.

According to the report, the Geomancer is "a dangerous meta-human with the unique ability to create earthquakes. Intent on destroying the Flash, Geomancer uses his powers to unleash a string of targeted earthquakes, optimistic that he'll draw out the Flash for a mano-a-mano fight to see who's the most powerful metahuman in Central City."

In the original DC comics, there have been two people to don the powers of the Geomancer but neither has made any significant appearances in the comic books ever since DC rebooted its comic line with the launch of the New 52.

The Geomancer's powers could prove very useful in fighting Barry Allen aka the Flash (Grant Gustin). The Flash's speed would not prove useful if he cannot run on stable ground. However, as seen in the season 1 finale, the Flash is capable of running and jumping on quickly falling debris.

According to a report from Screen Rant, the Geomancer will appear in episodes 13 and 14. Speaking to TV Line, executive producer Greg Berlanti described the episodes as "the two craziest episodes that we've ever done - and probably two of my favorite episodes ever."

Berlanti continued to explain that these episodes will have something planned for Iris West (Candice Patton), although he did not further detail what was exactly going to happen in the episode.

With Stafford stepping into the role, it is suggested that the character of the Geomancer might stick around instead of being killed off. This would allow him to join the Flash's Rogue Gallery and become a recurring threat in future seasons or even as a villain in the spin-off series "The Legends of Tomorrow."

"The Flash" season 2 returns this Jan. 19, 2016.
