Fans were treated to the first look of Jay Garrick before his debut on the second season of "The Flash" after the CW released a new poster featuring Teddy Sears' character.

In the image, Jay is alongside Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in what can only be homage to the 1961 comic book cover "Flash of Two Worlds." Deadline confirms that it is a copy of the iconic cover where the two heroes are shown in their respective costumes. Executive producer Greg Berlanti posted an accompanying message on Twitter, stating that the poster is "an actual moment from an early episode."

After successfully rebooting "The Flash" as a forensic detective back in 1956, DC decided to bring back the character of Jay in the said comic book issue. From then on, Jay has been established as hailing from DC's official home for 1940s characters, "Earth Two."

Meanwhile, season 2 will also introduce another iconic character when it airs this fall. Viewers will see Wally West aka Kid Flash alongside his idol The Flash. According to the International Business Times, Wally is the nephew of Iris West who came to Central City for a visit. When lightning struck him, he gained the same powers as Barry.

Keiynan Lonsdale has been tapped to play Kid Flash. He is best known for his works in "Insurgent," "Dance Academy" and "All Saints." The actor posted recently on Twitter, saying he could not be more excited to join the hit CW series.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg also expressed the network's excitement on bringing back beloved character for the next season.

"Just like when we met Grant for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero," he said in a statement.

"The Flash" season 2 will premiere Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
