Barry Allen will have his plate full because the Flash will be facing two big bads in "The Flash" season 3 – Dr. Alchemy and Savitar. Meanwhile, an unexpected old foe might also be returning to Central City next season.

"Savitar" is a Hindu word meaning "the god of speed." Showrunner Todd Helbing told TV Line that Savitar is a speed god "with a cult following." Although Savitar's powers can be classified as super speed, fans can expect that Savitar will be different from the previous villain speedsters.

"But everything about him is different than Zoom or Reverse-Flash. I can't go into too much detail, but he's quite a bit different," Helbing added.

The Flash's other rival — Dr. Alchemy — will have a different set of powers to throw Barry off his game. Helbing tells TV Line, "We're trying to have the powers that they both possess play off of each other. It's not just, 'Oh, I have to catch this guy and take him down.' It's like, 'Crap, now there's this other guy, Dr. Alchemy,' who has these transmutation qualities via this Philosopher's Stone." It is possible that these two villains will be working together to defeat Central City's own Scarlet Speedster.

Director Kevin Smith previously shared a shot of the script for episode 7 season 3 in a Twitter post. His post concealed the title for episode 7, but a Flash fan was able to discover the title of the episode. The title of episode 7 is "Killer Frost," which suggests that Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker) doppelganger from Earth-2 will be returning to Central City.

In a previous episode of "The Flash," Killer Frost was stabbed in the stomach with her own icicle, and it was assumed that she died from her injuries. The release of episode 7's title leads to speculations that Killer Frost will return, possibly through Earth-1's Caitlin Snow.

Although Caitlin tested negative with the metahuman gene, her transformation to Killer Frost might be similar to how Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdez) turned into a metahuman, which was gradual and undetectable.

"The Flash" season 3 promo shows a glimpse of Savitar and his cult during a ritual, while Barry discovers that he created an alternate universe and tries to reverse the outcome of his previous time travel.

"The Flash" season 3 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
