Filmmaker and comic book writer Kevin Smith will be in the director's seat once again for an episode of "The Flash" season 3.

"I know I'm going back to The Flash, first week of September, to direct episode 7 of season 3," Smith revealed during an interview with Den of Geek.

Smith had his hand at directing an episode from the second season. The episode was "The Runaway Dinosaur," which saw Barry inside the speed force.

This episode was received with critical acclaim from fans so it his "The Flash" season 3 directing stint should certainly be good news for those who loved his work on the said episode.

Smith holds a big name in the comic book industry having written comic book stories himself. Apart from "The Flash," he also hopes to direct an episode of "Arrow." However, the show is yet to follow up on this.

"Still haven't heard anything back from Arrow. You know, I wish, it would be amazing because I would love to write and direct Onomatopoeia in the show," Smith said, referring to the Green Arrow villain he created.

He has also expressed his interest in helming an episode of Netflix's "Daredevil," which is yet to be renewed, as well as the upcoming "Defenders" miniseries.

Smith wrote stories featuring Green Arrow and Daredevil in the past, so it will be exciting to see how he handles the shows featuring the characters, should he get the chance to direct.

The cast and crew are now back on set for the production of "The Flash" season 3. The new season will tackle the consequences of Barry's (Grant Gustin) decision to save his mother.

The show will deal with the storyline in the style of "Flashpoint," which is the famous comic book story that deals with the brutal changes that came when Barry changed the past and saved his mother. That included him losing his powers.

"The Flash" season 3 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
